Great Illy Coffee. New Yorkers are certainly going to miss the Galleria Illy in SOHO. It's such a great and interesting space to enjoy a truely good espresso or cappuccino prepared all' Italiana by trained baristas and paired with desserts and chocolates created by celebrated chefs. Or sit and relax and read from a library of a wide selection of books published by Charta. Or admire the beautiful b/w photos by Michael James O'Brien of the world's top chefs, 1989-2005 taken for Food Arts Magazine. Or take part in coffee-centric discussions and events and even premiering original theatrical productions. Or view a new James Rosenquist. Or celebrate neo expressionist pioneer Julian Schnabel's birthday at a private party introducing the artist's creation for the Illy collection of porcelain cups, one for every day of the week, starring Chuck, a recurring Schnabel character. or, or, or.............but, be quick the Galleria Illy closes on December15thh...che peccato!
